Does it resolve to the last note G? That is does the tune sound like it's reached a conclusion when you play the G note? If so then it's in G and those are 5 of the notes from a G major scale. The intervals used in order are 3 4 5 2 1 so to transpose that to D then use the same intervals from a D major scale. You should be able to work out how to do that and nobody would be doing you any favours doing it for you, it's not possible for anyone to recomend any chords because we don't know which notes are the significant melody notes to harmonise without any idea of how long the notes are held for but my guess is try some chords from the key of G and see how it sounds.
