Dyers are ok for smaller players because of the 12th fret to body connection. Jim is a great builder who I think still makes most of the instruments at Dyer. I've never been a fan of that design which is why we modeled our instruments more after the Knutsen designs, namely we centered the bridge on the top to accentuate the harp strings and allow the top to vibrate more freely.

We are currently building a smaller body HG for Matt Thomas thats a 12 fret connection also for smaller players. My last shameless plug is about our regionally harvested tone woods (Englemann spruce and western redcedar). In the inland Northwest it is colder most of of the year making winter growth rings much tighter than other alpine wood.
Sorry about the delay. I had thought this thread was a little dead.

I have zero personal experience with harp guitars. I'm 5'5" on a good day, so smaller is probably a good idea.
