I've got an old distortion pedal that doesn't have a jack, I just put a 'reverse' 9 volt clip lead onto the internal battery connector, and run the wire out the battery access panel. Most power supplies like the 'One Spot' come with an adapter connector to do that.
If your preamp only has a screw-on cover plate, you could drill a hole or slot in it for the wire.
