ALL - has anyone found some 12-fretters more (or less) suited for more "assertive" strumming. For example, if I imagine I'm Tom Petty and really start getting into American Girl -- will certain 12-fretters handle it better than others ? What has your experience been ?

Thanks!
A 12 fret dread will (generally) give you a more assertive sound, but I'd say more for flat picking rather than straight out strumming. For that, I much prefer a slope shoulder dread like a 14 fret Bourgeois Slope D (which can also be found with 12 frets)
