Different DAWs are good to try out until you find something that really aligns with your work methods.

Out af all my experiments Cakewalk was the only DAW that consistently would not work for me, on two different PCs. I spent close to $200 to purchase it in it's Sonar 9 form and I had nothing but problems with it. Cakewalk's customer support was of no help at all, offering me a couple of suggestions before they said they didn't have any other ideas. I had no problems with 3 other DAWs so I finally decided to just put the Cakewalk experience behind me.

I'm glad that others haven't had those problems.
