Not at all.

Many of us own guitars by more than one luthier and remain the best of friends with them…. Different guitars made by a variety of makers can make a player feel differently when playing a piece and it can open up new areas of musical exploration.

The African BW set is lovely and when paired with an Andreas Florinett spruce top crafted by Matthias it should make for a superlative instrument.

There is an interesting luthier lineage behind Matthias:

Art Overholtzer > Bruce McGuire > Richard Hoover > Marc Maingard > Matthias Roux (Cal State Chico in the 1960s to South Africa today!).

I look forward to watching this guitar come together over Matthias & Matthew’s shoulders…
