I agree with pitar DADF#AD is far better tuning. I use it to play the Wabash Cannon Ball, Yellow of Rose Texas, You are My Sunshine, When the Roses Bloom In Spring , Ashokan Farewell , most of what I know by Chris Smither and many other great tunes.
