I have an amicus that I use quite a lot with the band I play in.
I have to be honest in that I rarely play it at home, I don't know why, I just tend to pick up my regular guitars.
It's quite easy to play but does require a little more pressure just like any 12 string. It's loud, you'd have no trouble with sound projection at an acoustic jam.
Getting strings is a bit of a pain, you have to order custom sets which can be easy or difficult based on who you try to use. You can steal from 12 string sets but you need 2 of them to string one Amicus.
Someone may have a better solution than I've found.
It's a great instrument that I'll probably hang to to forever , the you need that sound , it's perfect.
