Aesthetically (to my eye) I prefer no back strip on this particular back. Mother Nature has offered one, herself, and the visual flow of the grain and coloration across the back is simply beautiful.
I would consider, though, a short segment of inlay (just south of the waist) as a decorative element to echo the design in the rosette...jmho
