Isn't there a way to make it the microphone only for your computer and the recording is done through Audcity or ??

Electonic's lol.........
I have a DR-05 and I'm not sure how it gets any easier than that. Plug a pair of headphones or the 1/8" stereo plug to a set of small powered computer monitor speakers to listen.

I had a low-buck Zoom H1 and it can be used as a usb microphone to a computer DAW; I think my DR-05 does the same thing, but I'm not sure about that. The problem with doing computer recording (other than all the technical hassles you can run into...) is that you're chained to one place and there's often the actual noise of the computer fan to deal with.

I have a few different recording setups, including A Zoom R24 for doing live band work, but the DR-05, a mic or camera tripod, and a set of reasonable quality headphones is pretty much the ultimate for quick and easy.
