Default Tipping a recording studio

In the not too distant future, I hope to go into a local recording studio to finally have my self-penned songs professionally recorded, no frills, likely just me and my acoustic guitar. I want to do this for me, and also to leave a record of my musical talent for future family. I have no idea what such a project will cost me, but it certainly won't be cheap.

I'm wondering about the appropriateness or not, of tipping the person(s) at the controls to produce the final product. Just pay the fees, or provide a tip? If a tip, how much (%)? Thanks.
