Great video and great points made by other posters. I started playing guitar at 45 and that was nearly two years ago. Although I was completely new to guitar, I wasn't new to music and had previously played brass (hence my forum handle) at a fairly high amateur level.

I think a key to success for learning as an adult is to set reasonable goals for yourself, realizing that you may not achieve the level of Eric Clapton, John Mayer, etc. And that's ok. For me personally, classical music and in particular Bach's Cello suites have always been an attraction ever since I started studying them playing brass. And since I've gotten into this hobby, I've discovered the likes of Gabriella Quevedo, Daria Semikina, and others on Youtube who have made wonderful arrangements that I hope to be able to tackle one day
