The hollow core back for the cocobolo is gluing. All these pieces go into each back. I got this idea from my pal Jeremy Clark. I've been building this way for a coupe years now and really enjoying the results. The backs end up being very evenly stiff in all directions, though built thin enough and light enough so as to be an active contributor to tone and volume of the instrument, and not a pure reflector like many laminated backs.
