I've listened to almost all on your list, and have music from 2/3 of them. I've always called them solo guitarists, or solo acoustic guitarists. It seems some feel a need to create a genre to define guitarists with more detail.
I think this definition is more for the non-guitarists in the listening audience. What's funny is look for the CD's of these artists in different music stores and THEY categorize them from Country to Progrssive, to Alternative. Seems everyone has to have one label to make it easy for the consumer to identify with them.
