So, one of the nerve-wracking jobs was done today--namely, cutting free the masking tape that was shielding the top from finish. This is one of those steps where you want (and need) a pair of steady hands. Steady hands were so last century, though...
Anyway it was done, successfully, preparing for this step:

Dave chose an African Blackwood bridge which, granted, isn't obvious from this pic. But the subtle browns in its grain work well with that sinker redwood top.
