Hi !
I am maw, I have a bunch of acoustics and a bunch of different string brands and types to find the perfect match for each guitar.

I came to keep a record some years ago to remember what works and banned matches.
As I would need the whole meeting time to tell my findings, I will bring in only the most significant :

I am currently banning Elixir on my Taylors (Sorry Bob !).
I tried ernie balls and will give a try to John Pearse soon.

D'Addario light (EJ-16) works fine on Gibsons Ls.

Martin MSP4100 does great on Martin OOO-18.
I used to like Martin M140 on some other guitars.
Martin Co. now put me in trouble as they stopped producing these...

I banned GHS but love ernie balls.
I am going to try Martin Monel on Loar archtop.

My guitar life seems an everlasting turmoil to me !
