I'm not sure that carbon fiber prices will come down by very much. The CA Cargo went up by about $500 last year, to finally get to a break-even price point. CF is an expensive material and the process is labor intensive and requires specialized molds, vacuum presses, temperature controlled curing, etc. It is much more likely that wood guitar prices will rise to match CF as premier tone woods get scarcer and more expensive over the coming years.

Personally, I have probably bought my last wood guitar already -- I have some great ones. Anything new will be CF. I'm just tired of the constant humidification battle, especially with multiple instruments. Don't get me wrong - I'm a big fan of wood (especially koa). But CF guitars get better each year as the builders refine the designs and the build process.

"Old guy" or "old fart" here.
