Was funny to watch that video, as I'm nearly finished with "The Gospel According to Luke", Lukather's autobiography...

I have to say... there is NO WAY that Steve was thinking about ANY OF THE STUFF those guys talked about when he did that solo... absolutely no way! He WAS that good at the time (probably still is), and he did so many iconic sessions through '77-'97 that it absolutely boggles the mind to consider how many recordings his playing is on...

Brilliant player, and Toto was a wonderful band that I never really loved... I knew all the guys were Steely Dan alumni, and I think I always expected "more" from the actual songs as far as lyrical statements... but you really couldn't do any better than Paich, the Porcaro family and Luke for band members!
