I cut all of the frets to length before they are installed. I've made a jig to help me with that. I cut the 1st and 12th fret to the proper length and use them as guides to cut the rest. This eliminates measuring errors and really keeps them uniform. I finish one end of each fret and set them into the jig;
I then secure them in place and cut them all flush with a file;
There, now only 19 more fret ends to go!
