basically "flicking down" with the 2nd and 3rd fingers to strum on the 1, picking up with the 2nd finger on the two on 1 or more low strings, down with the thumb for 1 or two low strings on the three, up with the index on the 4 again.
To be more accurate, it's a 1-and-two-and-three-and-four-and feel running through the pattern twice per measure.
I do something similar with thumb and finger pick starting with the the thumb on the 1.
