How I use it:
Bass and Mid: Turn the inner knob way up, scan frequencies by turning outer ring and find ringing/boominess, then turn down outer ring to eliminate/lessen frequency.
Hi: I use in opposite way by locating area to enhance.
And theoretically you should always start at 12:00 as every venue, set-up area is unique. But I find myself basically having standard settings for each instrument that remains roughly the same.
