I would be up for the idea of a road trip guitar. Play it for a week, then pay for shipping it on to the next person in line. The big question for me is how many steps any specific guitar might make before someone opted to keep it? Maybe part of the Road Trip agreement is you cannot buy THAT one, but have to either return it or pass it along, then order your own. Of course that requires a cooperative / speculative retailer to front the guitar in the first place. And since Emerald only sells direct, there is nothing in it for the retailer.

At least with Emerald and CF guitars in general, you won't have the variability of tone wood and can order sight-unseen with confidence.
