Well, I got a reply from Martin..."Hello Terry,
Thank you for contacting Martin Guitar. Our Retro Strings are designed for acoustic guitars, not electric or arch top instruments. The longer winding has been discussed by our String Team but has not been addressed as of yet."
Are there other monel type strings out there that might be wound long enough?
