My 2001 RainSong DR-1100 has a wonderful and unique carbon sound. I like it because it has a sound different than wood but in a delicious way. Very pure, clear, crisp, and yes deep too. Totally balanced. Never humidified, and taken out in severe cold and ghastly heat, it doesn't even go out of tune most of the time. I never kept it in a case and it sits on my stand 365 days a year to pick up and play every day. ...Maintance? None. ....Well I do have to dust it once in a while!
