Learning as I watched I saw a $400.00 Takamine with a bellied top get flat and sound as good as several other guitars
price much higher . Made a believer out of me then and I wasn't playing a guitar then . This was in 1994/5 - I didn't
pick up guitar till 1998/99 .
Since I began I have installed 3 , two on my guitars , one I installed in 2001 on a fairly new rosewood body & solid
one piece spruce top Washburn D46SCE . Made it explode nicely . The second was on a thrift store buy , another Washburn
no frills dreadnought with a badly bellied top - fixed . Third was another Takamine of a friend's , it had a bridge issue too
and it was fixed with the BD as well in the process and looks good too .
Considering the modern acoustic guitar is only about 150/60 years old , the refining process continues . The BD is one
of those refinements that comes along with time IMHO .
Weckter's guitars also have them in some models .

Are you saying you put BD's on guitars even when they don't need them?
