He was a genius for sure - I was in high school when Moving Pictures broke through on the radio - but their origins were much earlier than that - I group him with Shakespeare - an enquiring mind not fooled by taking the easy, self serving way out of difficult problems. In terms of lyrical quality, their final album Clockwork Angels (2012) shows just a slight hint of complacency, but in the arc of discography of the band, Snakes & Arrows (2007) is at their peak, a culmination of a lifetime of work, and includes a couple of instrumental pieces too.
