Another choice, just a bit more expensive, is the L R Baggs IBeam active. It is a bridgeplate pickup. I purchased mine and had it installed in my 0018V for $139. That was 4 or 5 years ago. It performs well and since it is active, it requires no additional pre-amp. But I don't use a pre-amp for my K & K's either.
I know several people who use the JJB and are quite happy with them. It really comes down to what ever a person likes and or wants.
