We watched and enjoyed Picard a whole lot more than
I expected.
According to the never-wrong Innernet, the "changes"
and "differences" to canon in the Pine movies and in
the dreadful Discovery are all about lawyers and
the split between CBS and Paramount. Now CBS
and Paramount are the same company again...
