I agree that trying a different string should be near the top of the list. If you're
using Savarez, try maybe a D'Addario. Not that the latter is "better", but it
is typically stiffer. There can be an issue with the "zip" tone that runs along the
length of the string causing problems, though it's more common on
the D string.
