Don't know how it sounds on a Taylor, but it does come as standard equipment on several Seagull models. I think it uses the Ribbon Transducer pickup which is the same as the one used in the Dual Source offered by Taylor as a factory-installed option. The preamp is different in that it is only designed for one input. I think it would probably be nice in a Taylor, except that you'd have to cut a hole in the side of the guitar for it (additional installation cost).

You may want to consider the iBeam Active instead of the MicroEQ, it has a built in endpin jack preamp. You don't get outboard volume controls, though.
