Getting very near the end. All that's left is to install the tuners and the fixed-pin bridge, then she gets her first strings. I love all the reds that are coming through on that King Billy Pine top and how they pick up so nicely with the fretboard. As with the previous zouk he built for me, Jack is going to make two nuts, one for octave strings and another for unison.




The figuring on the mulga fretboard is so lovely that I decided against fretmarkers.


I really love the unique look of the QLD Maple neck. I don't own another instrument with a neck that looks like that.


The headstock overlay is Australian Blackwood to match the back and sides and the Schertler tuners are ready to be installed.


The case is a long neck banjo case that fits this zouk pretty near perfectly.
