I agree with Tim, and the lack of the b/w/b is noticeable...but not crucial.

I also have no idea what Dave is talking about.

You don't get "wear" in that area of the guitar unless your pick or nails are digging into (or through) the finish. If that's the case, you would first be destroying the finish...regardless of the thickness of anything, including the top itself.
