My Cornerstone SJ Build
Hi Guys, I've recently signed up here after lurking for a while, so firstly 'hello' to everyone!
Peter is building me one of his lovely looking small jumbo models, which got underway a couple of weeks ago. Main details are small jumbo body, Adi top and Camatillo R/W back and sides. I've also asked for a 5 piece neck and a soundport, and I'm leaning towards Koa binding at the moment. Peter has been a pleasure to work with also thus far, a very nice guy. One thing I haven't asked him though, is if I have the pleasure of being his first Australian customer? (I wince when I hear the exchange rates each day - our dollar is down about 15c against the USD from when I was first got in contact  ) But enough talk, here are the pictures :) The top and back woods http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/3...woodic6.th.jpg http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/8...woodik6.th.jpg Rosette in progress and finished http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/6...tte1ug5.th.jpg http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/7...tte2al6.th.jpg http://img359.imageshack.us/img359/4...tte3fw2.th.jpg http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/6...tte4tv7.th.jpg And the bent sides. Unfortunately Peter tells me the sapwood won't be visible once the binding is on. I was thinking it could look kinda cool having a line of sapwood around the lower bout. But not to worry, I think the sides still look lovely. http://img357.imageshack.us/img357/64/03sidesik4.th.jpg |
Welcome Ozsi, glad to have you on the AGF and as another Cornerstone owner. Looking forward to seeing your build progress, Aloha,

I have never had the HONOR of playing a completed Cornerstone. BUT I have seen a BEAUTIFUL Cornerstone in progress and met Peter.
He is a wonderful man with an obvious love of quality guitars. I would love to own one of Peter's guitars............. Congratulations........ |

Russ, thanks for the kind words. If all works out timewise I'll be bringing the Genesis and the Zion to the next gathering..... |
Simon,

Welcome to the AGF and to the Cornerstone family, Ozsi :)
I think Koa binding would look great on this one. Enjoy the ride!! |
Thanks for the welcome, guys. You can be sure I'll post updates as they come through - I've loved following others build threads in the past but I never thought I'd get the chance to actually own the guitar at the end of one of them :D

Welcome to the Cornerstone Family!!! I promise you, you won't be sorry... it's going to be loads of fun. Except the part where you wait for the baby fly over by plane. ;) From the First Asian/ Singaporean Cornerstone Guitar Owner to the First Aussie Cornerstone Guitar Owner :D |
