Stephen Kinnaird 2023

We thought we would start a general thread to catch some of the things in our shop that won’t be posted by other AGF members. It’s another busy year for us in East Texas, and we’ve started out with a fun guitar.

Here’s a German/Sinker Mahogany OM that is as loud as the wood is stunning. We built it to take to one of our shows this year if it makes it that long. We hope you like it.

And here’s a couple of stills of it.

Hey Ryan - she's gorgeous! What's the specs on her? OM - assuming standard scale? How about the nut width and string spacing - thanks in advance!

Very standard specs from us. 25.4” scale. 1 3/4” nut, 2 1/4” saddle spacing.
This is our deep body OM that’s 1/2” deeper than a standard OM.

German Spruce top/Sinker Mahogany back and sides
Brazilian Rosewood peghead, fretboard, bridge and binding.
Soundport and cutaway.

I think that’s the main stuff. Any other questions, just let me know. :)

I’m not Ryan, but I appreciate the kind word too.

Come on bro, it’ll still be fun. We’re always playing catch-up anyways.
Thanks for the ooooweee!

Beautiful Mahogany! Stunning in fact. Love the use of the curly for the neck.

And with Steve playing it, I think I may have gone over the rainbow. Nice job Steve! :guitar:

I’m fascinated by that type of mahogany…most mahogany guitars look boring to me, despite good sound…but this wood is like flame maple, which I really love…beautiful!!

Thanks Jeff. Yes, mahogany can surprise you. It’s got a sweet voice alright, but sometimes can hold its own in the swimsuit competition.

Ryan and Steve - that is simply gorgeous, fantastic! Beautifully done!

I resawed an OM set of Sinker Mahogany and it didn't look like that. It was pretty, but not like that!

doodahdoug 01-19-2023 07:05 AM

Beautiful tonewoods and sound on this latest Deep Body OM...just a winner any way you look at it! Nice start to 2023 Steve and Ryan! :guitar:
