Sometimes I actually think about what I'm doing...

I'm playing a lot in dadgad, cgcgcd, etc lately. There was a song a while ago that I found that I really liked but it is in A# F C F G C, capo'd on 3 and its the only song I have that is in this tuning. I have a few guitars and usually I keep each one in a different tuning for convenience. I'm not allergic to tuning a guitar, but I'd rather play a bunch of tunes in a tuning to have variety, then to just have one guitar dedicated to just one song.

So I'm looking at this tuning and the light bulb finally went off in my head.
I brought each string up two steps to CGDGAD and capo'd on 1 instead. Duh, a little more practical for me.

You mean 2 half steps (from DADGAD) of the low E and A strings only to obtain CGDGAD, I believe. How did you resolve to A#FCFGC?

Let's see - from EADgbe (with a set of .013s to counter possible fretting out of .012s and lower gauges)

1. Tune E down to A
2. Tune A down to E
3. Tune D down to B
4. Tune g down to E
5. Tune b down to F#
6. Tune e down to b

Capo on 1st fret.

Pitar,

I meant half steps, sorry. The original tune was tabbed in the lower tuning.

A#...B.....C
F......F#...G
C.....C#...D
F......F#...G
G.....G#...A
C.....C#...D

:)

Its "Anniversary" by Gin. It's on my list to do after I finish up with something else. I've gone through most of it previously.
