Just placed a Taylor BTO order
Sorry if this is in the wrong part of the forum, I wasn’t sure if a BTO is “custom” or not.
When I realized that a cutaway is a deal-breaker for me, I returned an otherwise wonderful 12-fret guitar to order this one instead. Congratulations...and thanks for posting.
I like the idea of figured maple binding against the koa - that should look great. Col |
Congratulations. It is great that you are working with Ted on this one. Should be a beauty.

Beautiful koa. Do you have a picture of the "Island Vine" inlay? Sounds like a great build - congrats.

That will be a looker. Congratulations!
Can't wait to see the pics when you get it. |

The island vine inlay is made of koa and maple wood. On the headstock, it appears like this: https://i.imgur.com/P8T1nHdm.jpg The inlay on the fretboard appears like this: https://i.imgur.com/IPJjyQ0h.jpg |
That sounds like it's going to be a great guitar! I just ordered a BTO as well within the past week. I got a call from Taylor a couple days ago that they have received the order.
Mine is a GS with rosewood back and sides a grade AAA spruce. One thing is there will be no inlay as I will have that custom done as well. I'd love to see pics of yours when it's complete. I have a K24 which has the vine inlay that you show in your picture. I love the design of that vine! |
