Some photos of the blue spruce top and mahogany back and sides (along with the ivoroid to be used).

Wow. That's really nice. Love the aesthetic.
BTW What tuners are on the parlor? |
Schertlers tuners, usually. Still deciding what I'm going to use.

The Super project is still in the works by the way. It's just been pushed out. I used the original Super slot for this PX build.

Really like those blue spruce tops and looks like a killer hog set as well. I'll enjoy watching this one progress...

I think the blue spruce really brings something unique to the table, and it's great that Mike has found something of a signature top wood. Mike sent photos of a large variety of spruce and mahogany sets with no commentary. I told him what my favorites were and, fortuitously, he had selected the same ones out of the batch.
I like mahogany with subtle and unusual figure or very straight and plain stuff. Although the quilted and flamed varieties are mesmerizing, they aren't usually my favorites (though it depends on the build). This fiddleback 0000 Schoenberg looked really classy, I thought. http://jus-tone.com/misc/Healdsburg_...g_2013_-22.jpg |
Looks great. I would love to try that wood combo from Mike someday. Mike sure does have a way with woods. Congrats on the build.

I so do want a parlor. Love the inlay work and the complete aesthetic of the build at the beginning of the thread.

You know what time it is when Mike has the sides all positioned in the forms? It's business time.

Col, you're used to the guitars he builds for the Southern Hemisphere. When built for Northerners, the angle is 1 degree different. It's to ensure that it spins the correct way in a toilet.
