Eastman Prototypes! Two GACE models and a Dreadnought!
We were thrilled to be offered these exquisite prototypes, built this year in the Eastman shop using tone woods rarely or never found on their production models. Based on the results, we really hope they continue in this direction!
The first is a GACE with European spruce top and Aged Eucalyptus back/sides: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/04...g?v=1668716146 https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/04...g?v=1668716146 The Eucalyptus has a tone that hits our ears somewhere between mahogany and walnut, strong fundamental with great sustain. The figuring is very pleasing, almost resembling snake wood. See more pictures and specs here: https://acousticmusicworks.com/colle...eucalyptus-new The next prototype on offer is also a GACE, with Euro spruce top and Ziricote back/sides: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/04...g?v=1668716463 https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/04...g?v=1668716463 This one looks just spectacular, and we can't imagine the top being any finer! See more here: https://acousticmusicworks.com/colle...e-ziricote-new The last piece we're offering at this time is an E20D prototype (labeled simply "dreadnought prototype) and while the materials aren't quite as exotic, it has particularly fine sound. It's a classic. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/04...g?v=1668886281 https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/04...g?v=1668886281 Very "boutique" in its appointment set. Great stuff. Excuse my ignorance, what is GACE?
Thanks, sm |

Beautiful guitars! Any detailed specs? Like top treatment, nut, bracing, etc?
I know the touchstone series is getting some noise, so - will this be another boutique-like offering? |
Hi Brancher,
You can click through the links for more specs, but all three guitars are standard 1 3/4" nut, Sitka bracing. The tops are not torrefied or treated in any way. Here's a demo of the Eucalyptus: Quote:
