why is the one switch taped on?

How nostalgic! I had three of these at one time and they're a very high quality unit, and that hidden 10" driver underneath sure gets people scratching their heads wondering where all the bottom end is coming from. So nice having the built-in tilt back legs too.

I have one of these and for those here who also play keyboard, this thing doubles as a great keyboard amplifier. It is a curious thing that I have never heard or seen that mentioned anywhere. It is a very versatile amp that sounds great in any setting. I keep mine sitting out for either acoustic guitar or my keyboard. If I played bass, it would be great for that too. :)

I’ve only seen/heard one of these, and I was really impressed!
I had a Fender Acoustisonic (the midsize model) at the time and this thing blew mine off the stage!! I didn’t know about the 10 inch woofer pointing down til I saw the pictures today. That explains.. well, that and 300 watts.. why it had such a big sound. Mine was sooo thin by comparison. This is the good stuff. |
Thank you all!!
Thanks, everyone for the nice comments. These are FANTASTIC amps and about as versatile as one could wish for. All in a 20lb package!!!
The tweeter defeat switch is taped in the on position. A couple times I could not figure out what happened to the high end... I had bumped the tweeter switch to off. Oops. So my low tech fix is shown in the pics. PLENTY of power for any extension! At this point, I am reminded often of the famous Chinese curse: "may you live in interesting times" have fun anyway! Paul |
I don't recall having seen one of these show up here for sale, so this may be somebody's chance at a great all around amp. I have had mine for years and never had a problem with it.
