Roger, you have a good memory. I had a Larrivee baritone that I was rather fond of, but finances such as they were, it made room for something else I thought I needed at the time.
When I discovered how much I missed that thing, Larrivee no longer made baritones, and so I picked up a Taylor. Better electronics than the K&K I put in the other one, and 14 frets, which arguably, is a plus. (If you want to play way up there what's with the baritone?) haha.
Neil- s'up, yo? We got some serious catching up to do.
I'm Loft Security this year, btw, Neil.
(just kidding):D
Still months away and I'm getting McPsyched.
And a Larry Robinson fretboard- Stand back!
I have a Larry Robinson book but never seen anything more than pictures!

BTW Mary, has anybody called Loft Security yet?

Savin' it for the Neilmyster.

Might be more like a fun pajama party atmosphere if Mark is wearing his McJam togas. ;)

OKAY Mary... I'm not sure how you're going to blame me for this, but just a quick check of the McJam roster, I noticed a possible mistake...

Rodger Frantz (Rodger)
Nancy Frantz

I now have a good nickname for Kathy... Fancy Pants Nancy Frantz. So, thanks for that.

:)

Oh my... OH MY. :confused:

I’ll claim that mistake but I need to tell Bruce I’m not giving Nancy away as a door prize item.

Kathy got a kick out of this...

Hey y'all ...

Amy is unable to make this McJam. I haven't hear from many others to build the list, but we still have a few weeks. I'll send a reminder to McKnight guitar customers, too.

June 22 and 23. Ross is bringing his nephew this year. Maybe you, too, will want to invite a friend.

Mary 05-24-2018 08:06 AM

ATTENTION: AGF brothers who want to get together with a few wonderful McJammers in north central Ohio on June 22 and/or 23 this is the time to contact Tim or me.

I can give more details that way.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Regular McJammers:
Gee ... Mark - I apologize ... I just realized I didn't put your name on the first post list. Don't let me slack like that. It's OK to give me that V-8 smack on the forehead when you get here. We will see you in a few weeks! :)
I will send an email today so you know if you have not sent your non-refundable payment it will be accepted anytime the first week of June. Although you know that's not a hard and fast rule.
Feel free to contact me through e-mail.
11th anniversary of the McKnight McJam .... count down to enjoy playing acoustic guitars on Friday, June 22 and/or Saturday June 23.
Is anyone interested in joining us for a jam weekend at the McKnight shop.
Meet our luthier. Some guitars are available for purchase.
You do not have to own our guitars nor do you need to bring your own. There will be a few here to play.
Food, water and soft drinks will be set out for you to enjoy. I don't think you will go hungry!
Rodger will help us Skype with Coldshot, one of our AGF Aussie brothers.
We are located just 10 minutes from local Marion and Upper Sandusky, Ohio motels.
Contact me on this thread so I can give you more information and address details.
Ross just had a friend sign up for Friday.
Tim McKnight 06-06-2018 11:31 AM
Adding the names Bob Beer and Jim Boedicker to the list for Friday.
Mary 06-13-2018 10:49 AM
Harold Jackson has just been added to the list.
We are on a count down to next weekend! Am I ready????????
As ready as we ever are.... Kind of.
Can't wait to see y'all. Mom is doing very well on her walker. She is joyfully looking forward to see everyone too.
That’s good to hear, Mary. Even though we just came back from a Caribbean cruise I’ve actually been looking forward to this more. I don’t even care if it’s a “dry” gathering because I’m liquored out, lol! Look for me. I’ll be the paunchy tan guy - though TBH somehow I didn’t gain much weight from the buffets.
Heyyyyyyyyy... a cruise? The McJam was on the A-list compared to a cruise? Very cool.
Ross has another friend who signed up for Friday, Mark Gillimore. We do have Mark Sandstrom joining us. Could this be another year of the Marks? I didn't know any of you well enough to know who was who. Y'all looked alike to me. I was telling Rodger about the year we had Mark Waddle, Mark Wamsley and Mark Wampler. If I needed a helping hand I just yelled out, "Hey Mark..." Someone was bound to lend a helping hand.
Any more Marks interested in coming to the 2018 McJam? :D
I was in the Navy, Mary. Been there done that. Why pay for being cooped up on a ship with 5,000 other people and pick up the crud from being in close quarters? I've gone through 3 boxes of tissues just from hacking up yuck. The first time around at least I got to be around airplanes and earn money that put me through college.
I'm just hoping that Ohio is sunny because in addition to my workhorse Larrivee I'm bringing my bicycle!
PS: I'm loving the new website and enjoying the media clips - especially the one entitled "Cracked Nut Suite" by James Filkins. In reading the description I see that it was played on my favorite McKnight guitar, the Highlander that had wenge back and sides with a cedar/Engelmann double top. I can't wait to see what else you'll have sitting around to play this year.
