Identify this gibson
Hi,
I was reading an article (here) and wonder which model was the slope shoulder gibson hold by the CEO. Thanks https://www.gannett-cdn.com/presto/2...080&quality=50 |
I believe that is Gibson’s J-45 Sustainable model.

Is it just me or does that truss rod cover look off center?
|
It does, but I think it's an optical illusion caused by a combination of the thicker strings on the bass side and the corner skewing of a very wide-angle lens.
Or Gibson's famous attention to detail and QC on display  |

It may be that the only thing that is sustainable with Gibson is 'Good Enough', but that's just a hunch. HE |
Has anyone else noticed it’s almost always a D chord when someone is photographed with a guitar? :D

The finish of the head stock looks very cool. And I am bit scared about the edge of the desk.

Well, I don't know. My only Gibson was built in 1934. I've tried to buy Gibson flat tops a number of times during the "Henry" era and been consistently disappointed.
The guitar in the picture is a standard Gibson jumbo shape - s'all I know. I've been known to say that if you want to buy a good Gibson Jumbo, buy a Blueridge or an Eastman! I wish Gibson every future success and I really like the sound of more positive communication with other brands and makers. Mr JC looks somewhat "cooler" than Henry! |
