Hello.
The nut slot is cut and the fretboard extension is glued to the body, I’m finally ready to prepare the guitar for finishing!! I’d like to ask for some advice , however. Now the fretboard extension is glued to the body, I’ve noticed its bottom is not completely flat towards tone of the sides. There’s a small gap in one of the sides, the other side is flush with the body . I can even insert a folded sheet of paper and it goes in about half a centimetre as shown in the pictures. What would be the preferred method to fill this gap? I guess it’s not crucial, since the rest of the extension seems to be glued properly to the body. Do you think I should better leave that as it is and let the gap get filled by shellac during the French polish process?? Thank you!!! Can’t wait to start polishing the guitar, I will post my results here ! How you like it.
