Upgrading speakers.

Hello folks,

I really wasn't sure if this was the right part of the forum to post to, just because I've never seen it discussed.

I'm wanting to upgrade my sound system but really clueless. I've got a decent PC and just a cheap £30 logitech speakers. I have pretty high end headphones which I Adore but would like to have a better surround sound.

So I'm asking what do I look for, what kind of speakers, is there a big difference to cheap to expensive speakers, how my room would affect the noise.

Only thing is I can't have it too bass heavy as live with other tenants.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Chris.

One upgrade for small spaces would be the Tivoli single unit with 2 speakers and sub, connects with bluetooth and mini to source and sounds amazing for the price around $500. Quantum leap over the Bose consoles IMO. Heard one in German store am fixated but now available in US and Amazon.

Scotch are you talking about a monitoring system for mixing recorded music ? Or simply a listening system for pre recorded music or both?

Simply just for listening purposes for music.
