Getting Me Through...Follow You to Virgie

After recently losing my mom, my world has been turned upside down. It has not been long and the days can often be nothing short of a total grind. Since she lived with me and my wife for the last six years, mom is everywhere - which is a blessing, but also difficult. So, many, many reminders.

That said, my mom gave me my love of music. We would sit together, sing, dance, and more times than not, we would put a song on repeat and listen, over and over and over. We always heard something new and our love deepened for whatever song was capturing our attention.

Today, I am getting through with the help of Tyler Childers. "Follow You to Virgie" is on repeat, playing loudly, and I am singing and crying, and imagining my mom singing right along, next to me, as she always did.

Hi Kori,

I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. I can only imagine how difficult this time is for you. I know that you know that with time and grief, that you will not hurt quite so much. It takes time before some of this overwhelming sense of loss becomes a little more bearable.

You take care, Kori.

Wonderful video! I was with my Mom in the room, the night before she passed from cancer, and she looked in my eyes and told me, she could not live forever, so I looked in her eyes and I told her she will always live forever in my heart. Take strength from the love and life you shared together.
