Best guitar that doubles as a weapon?
Hello AGF. Recently my gigs have found me in some less than savory locales. Instead of backing down and finding easier places to play like wineries, assisted Living facilities, or sororities, I'd like to continue with these venues but want to ensure I can protect myself.
As a felon I cannot legally bring a gun to my shows so I'd like see how I could utilize my guitar as a weapon for self defense and possibly offense as well. As an acoustic player I dont think something like Gene Simmons axe bass would work. So far I've found this beauty which looks like it would be capable of sending a biker to the dentist, the ER, or back to his mama: https://www.uncommongoods.com/produc...-travel-guitar Any other good suggestions? Thank you in advance. |
maybe sharpen the ends and you should be good to go for a few attacks.

A carbon fiber guitar will do the trick as a club. :) With a carbon fiber guitar, you are never up the creek without a paddle.

Axiomatically, the old Westbury Guilds were the best guitars in a bar fight. Best of all, it probably won’t hurt the instrument at all. :)

Wear good boots.
Be willing to stomp a leading knee. Get a Godin Multiac to use as a shield/club. |
You could probably still strum chords while wearing a set of brass knuckles.

So, essentially, you’re looking for a “beater” guitar?

Banjitar!!!

I'm sticking with the traditional Atlas mic stand. It never goes out of tune.

Monson guitars
Pretty much everything they make. |

OK everyone, I don't know if this is intended completely tongue and cheek or what, but let's not go too crazy on this one...

This one should work...https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...26448aa355.jpg

Historically Fender Telecasters have been the weapon of choice for musicians protection. You can whack somebody with one and keep on playing in tune.
