Mumford & Sons cover "I'm on Fire"
Unplugged. I love this version. I want to learn to play rhythm guitar like that.

Thanks. What category is this in now? Never mind. I didn't know we had a "Listen" category. Learn something new every day!

I am by no means a technique expert But I am guessing a big part of what you are hearing is palm muting and he appears to be doing a sparse version of the basic 4 string picking pattern on the original . And I think he is down picking the low E string as the beat note with an up stroke on the G sting The muting gives it the percussive (what I call) Chucka Chucka feel to the Rhythm |
Thanks for your thoughts, Keywind.

I just watched the longer version of this show and read the backstory, very interesting and a fantastic performance. The dynamics, voice control, and emotion are just sublime. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing this.

You're welcome, Steve. I'll have to find the longer version and learn abou the backstory.

Looks like a Collings dread he is playing.

Very nice version! I haven't heard much of Mumford and Sons, but I've been pleasantly surprised by each time that I have heard their music...
Nice "Private Party" gig, too! Thanks for posting this... |
