LB6 Install and Repair
Hi All,
I recently had a Bob Colosi bone-topped LB6 installed in a new Yamaha LL16, along with a Colosi nut and bridge pins. The LB6 install doesn't seem to have gone well and has a gap in the slot on the side of the high-e string that's about an 1/16" and the pickup is woefully out of balance with the high-e being very quiet, the b-string very very loud, and the bass-end kinda muddy. Baggs told me I'll need to have the pickup re-aligned/centered. Even after that, I suspect their may be some gap in the saddle slot. Is that a tone or intonation concern at all? https://forum.lrbaggs.com/filedata/fetch?photoid=7734 |
Yeah, that exceptionally sloppy fit will affect tone.

If you paid for that saddle to be fitted, I would be extremely dis-appointed, it will definetly affect the sound quality

I am no expert, but that saddle looks a little low in addition those strings coming out from the pin holes? should they be pushing against the bridge like that?

That saddle is way too loose in the slot. You didn't pay for someone to install that, I hope.
