Anybody try a Soundboard Amp?

I'm not in the market, but I thought the concept was exceedingly cool. Can't imagine how it actually perfoms, though. If it's using a piece of spruce soundboard as the "speaker", how can it really amplify the guitar? At best, wouldn't it sound like 2 guitars?

Just idle curiosity...

OH, and why doesn't it come in Englemann??? :D

I haven't heard the High Cliff Soundboard 2, but I read a review in AG of the original Soundboard that was, shall we say, less than enthusiastic. The "2" is much improved I understand.

Our local Music Go Round has had a Soundboard amp for a LONG time. I think they sold it once or twice and it kept coming back. It is one of the worst sounding acoustic amps I ever heard.

A bad gimmick.

Maybe the new version is better, but that original was a joke.
