Pig Meat Strut (Big Bill Broozny cover) on a Gibson L-00 Vintage
Hi Guys,
Here's my latest recording. Big Bill Broonzy's Pig Meat Strut played on a Gibson L-00 Vintage. It's from an arrangement by Woody Mann. The original was arranged for two guitars, one playing the ascending walking bass line and other playing the descending melody and licks. Woody combined them into one arrangement for solo guitar. It's fun to play. I hope you like it. |
Good job on that. Is that the actual Woody Mann arrangement or a loose approximation of it?

If I remember correctly Woody's arrangement used dead thumb bass for the first half of the tune then switched over to the walking bass for the final chorus. I prefer the walking bass throughout so that's the way I play it. |
Cool tune. Sounded great!

Thanks Marty!

Looks like I missed this one - intricate and clean playing, Doug. Great stuff, good sound from your Gibson. Very cool!

Wow, great work Doug! Keeping up the bass run throughout is an incredible challenge, and you've nailed it. And the melody has a nice syncopation that I haven't heard before.
