Most popular CF guitars???
I thought it would be interesting to see what are the most popular carbon fiber guitars among AGF members. This poll allows for multiple responses but unfortunately doesn't allow for multiple ownership of a single brand. We could establish multiple ownership of a single brand in our posts, and perhaps some enterprising statistician could compile that.
I own two Rainsongs... |
3 Emeralds here.
|
McPherson Sable here, have owned RS and Emeralds in the past. All great guitars.
|
Emerald X20 now. Had a Rainsong but sold it due to nut width being less than what I wanted.
|
I voted other because I do not own one … but am looking at the various brands. This poll will help me see who owns what brands, which, I hope, will give an indication of tone and quality preferences amongst the AGF members.
This has helped me research a few brands. I have decided on an Emerald X7 from their current inventory. It should arrive by the end of August. |
Love my Rainsong CH-OM. Takes a beating out in my hot, humid gigs and performs great.

A McPherson Sable, and an Emerald X20 coming soon… A pre-Covid order that had to be postponed. Alistair has kindly accepted to build it with the custom options agreed upon at that time even though they’re not available anymore. Really impatient to see the result… not sure it will dethrone my Sable though :)

Great thread! At one time I owned a RainSong, Emerald, and McPherson, and collectively they are all equal or better than most wood guitars I’ve played. As of today, 7/11, I’m surprised that RainSong isn’t in first place

One Rainsong OM here.

3 Emeralds here. I thought it might be like Chicago and I could vote 3 times, but that feature doesn't seem to be working. ;)
|
One Emerald and one Rainsong. Hope to supplement them with a McPherson, eventually.
|
I've had 6 Emeralds, 3 Blackbirds and 1 Rainsong. If I could divide my vote I would give each maker 3 1/3 votes.
|
I vote for Other as I have a Custom Leviora guitar. It's my main guitar now, extremely stable, comfortable with all bevels and great tone. Always having it with me play outside or practice at home. Furthermore, it urge me change stings more frequently as I can hear my guitar better from the side sound port now.

The results are interesting and reflect a current reality. I would like to see the poll ask another question: How many of each make have you owned? This question would address loyalty. My guess is that Rainsong might move up on the chart.
